It’s also important to call from a quiet location with a reliable phone connection. Background noise, interruptions, or poor reception can make it difficult for the recruiter to focus on the conversation and create the best possible first impression.

Finally, have an up-to-date copy of your résumé or CV readily available. Recruiters often request it during or immediately after the call, and being prepared allows the conversation to move forward without delay.
