Regeneron to convert former magazine factory into drug plant

Regeneron is investing $2 billion to convert a former Quad Graphics magazine printing plant in Saratoga Springs, New York, into a drug-manufacturing facility, part of its broader push to onshore more of its production.

The 1-million-square-foot site will be rebuilt and outfitted for manufacturing, creating at least 1,000 new full-time jobs. Regeneron says the plant will focus on producing drugs for infectious diseases and cancer, helping it nearly double its manufacturing capacity in New York.

The move comes as part of Regeneron’s $7 billion-plus domestic-capacity expansion, including a separate deal to work with Fujifilm Diosynth in North Carolina.
