Citing impurity concerns, Sanofi has pulled hypertension medications in Korea and UK. This recall joins concerns first raised in Canada and Europe.
In Korea, the company is removing tablets made in-country before January. This includes Aprovel, CoAprovel and Rovelito which contain irbesartan, which has been tied to the discovery of azido impurities in multiple countries.
In the U.K., certain batches of Sanofi’s Aprovel and CoAprovel, plus film-coated irbesartan tablets made by Zentiva have been recalled.
