Maurice Schweitzer, a professor of management at Wharton, has researched what happens when people brag about themselves. Ideally, people want to come across as competent and likeable however, some people are seen as competent but not likeable.
Whether it is for an interview, social media post, or a job promotion, Schweitzer has said that the best method is “dual promotion.” This includes promoting yourself along with promoting a coworker for their accomplishments as well.
