According to recent research by Ringover, a cloud-based telecom provider, which surveyed over 1,200 people who have interviewed job candidates, the quickest way to make a bad first impression in a job interview is to show up late.

Current suggested arrival times are 5 minutes early to an in-person interview and 10 minutes early for a video interview to ensure you aren’t experiencing technical difficulties.

If you do end up being late, make a quick, genuine apology.
