We always do a practice run with our candidates to make sure they are comfortable using this technology. We want to make sure that we can see each other clearly, that the candidate is centered in the screen, there are no distractions in the background and to ensure that the candidate is comfortable with this method of interviewing. If using an iPhone, it might need to be propped up on a shelf since one should not be holding the phone during the interview.

It is important to smile, be relaxed and most of all, be yourself. The interviewer is assessing your ability to connect with them, your body language, how you engage in conversation and think on your feet. The candidate is making the same assessments.
