#373: Set a Clear and Realistic Timeline

Finding your dream job can take a long time, sometimes much longer than anticipated. These extended timelines can be challenging for candidates, recruiters, and the hiring team.

It's hard enough to search for a new job, and if you're engaged in a lengthy interview or recruitment process, it only makes things harder.

One might wait too long to accept a good offer from another organization or give up entirely if the recruitment process takes an inordinately long time.

As a candidate make sure to ask your recruiter:

  • When does the client plan to make a hiring decision?

  • How much of your time will the interview process take?

By communicating your expectations about time and timing from the start, candidates can plan and organize their job search accordingly.
